Australia is extremely lucky to have a strong and talented music scene and to be the home of some of the world’s greatest and most popular artists.
Unfortunately, it’s not all flashy lights and glitter. Many musicians and music workers struggle with financial hardship, physical illness, injury, and mental health issues daily. As the hand and the heart of Australian music, Support Act’s sole purpose is to support members of the music industry through financial assistance in times of need.
For AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2018, the charity encouraged supporters to wear their favourite band t-shirt, take a photo of themselves, and share it online to raise money for those struggling in the music industry.
The Challenge: integrating the missing piece
They had all the elements of a successful campaign - a casual Friday concept whereby participants make a donation to wear their favourite Aussie band tee to work, engagement strategies like sharing photos and using the campaign hashtag on social media, and a plan for individuals and teams to raise money in support of the cause.
The challenge was to link all of these elements together to provide a seamless journey for their supporters in order to increase engagement and grow the fundraising results.
The solution: Event Essentials for end-to-end digital fundraising
With the help of Blackbaud, Support Act called to action a vast community of music lovers for an electric 2018 campaign, far exceeding its original goal of $30,000 by a stunning 270%.
With these results, Support Act is set to continue its best work for musicians, music workers, and music fans in the future.
