Sexual harassment and violence doesn’t just happen behind closed doors. According to a recent survey, 90% of young women in Sydney are afraid of being in the city at night due to harassment from strangers on the street.
 

But it doesn’t have to be this way. In what is believed to be the most ambitious crowdsourced data collection project to combat street harassment ever undertaken, girls in Delhi, Kampala, Lima, Sydney and Madrid are harnessing digital mapping tools to transform their cities in to places where everyone can feel safe.
